Photograph a living tradition of creation, sacrifice, and renewal
Join Leica Akademie for a unique evening photowalk documenting one of Singapore's most distinctive cultural celebrations. Unlike other dragon dance traditions, one Singaporean temple's fire dragon exists within a remarkable cycle of creation, sacrifice, and renewal, making it a compelling subject for photographers seeking to capture both tradition and storytelling.
Led by Leica Akademie Tutor KC Eng, participants will venture into the heart of the festivities to photograph the fire dragon as it comes alive amidst flames, incense, vibrant colours, and dramatic evening light. This immersive outing offers an exciting opportunity to hone your documentary, street, and event photography skills while experiencing an extraordinary cultural event.
Throughout the evening, KC will share practical techniques on anticipating key moments, working effectively in low-light conditions, composing dynamic images within crowded environments, and crafting a visual narrative that captures the spirit of the celebration.
