Leica Explore: Cultural Documentary Workshop

$300.00
#P65-12

Step into the shadows. Capture the unseen.

Join an intimate group of photographers for a rare opportunity to document one of Asia’s most enigmatic and spiritual festivals — the Hungry Ghost Festival. This exclusive workshop offers privileged access to a deeply mystic ceremony rarely witnessed by outsiders.

What Awaits You

  • Exclusive Access: Photograph a sacred ritual held in a hidden venue where ancestral offerings, spirit summoning, and ceremonial performances unfold in haunting beauty.
  • Small Group Experience: Limited to just a handful of participants to ensure personal guidance and unobtrusive shooting.
  • On-the-Ground Mentorship: Led by a seasoned documentary photographer with deep cultural insight and years of field experience.
  • Cultural Immersion: Learn the stories behind the rituals, symbols, and traditions that animate the festival — from burning joss paper to ritual ceremonial performances.

Why This Workshop Is Unique

The Hungry Ghost Festival is a time when the veil between worlds thins. Spirits roam. Families honor the dead. And the streets come alive with firelight, incense, and reverence. This workshop is your chance to:

  • Capture raw, emotional moments in low-light, high-intensity settings.
  • Build a powerful visual narrative rooted in cultural depth.
  • Explore ethical storytelling in sacred spaces.
