Join us for an engaging workshop with Calvin Courjon designed to elevate your car photography skills from pre-production to post-production, featuring luxury sports cars. Whether you are a beginner or looking to refine your techniques, this workshop will guide you through every stage of capturing stunning automotive images.

Pre-Production:

Start your journey by learning how to plan your shoots effectively. We will cover essential elements such as scouting locations, understanding lighting conditions and selecting the right equipment as the first steps to get you prepared for the perfect shoot. Pick a tip or two on how you can convince owners to allow you to shoot their cars, how to secure private access and approach them for future projects.

Pre-Shoot:

Before the shoot takes place, we will discuss important pre-shoot preparations, including styling and visualisation of the space that you have been given, as well as techniques for presenting cars for the best visual impact.

Shoot:

During the hands-on shooting session, you will put theory into practice. Under the guidance of Calvin, you will explore various shooting techniques, including dynamic angles, detailed close-ups, with a model and with more than one car. We will also delve into composition and natural lighting to ensure you capture the essence of each vehicle, whether it's a sleek sports car or a classic beauty.

Post-Production:

Conclude your workshop with an overview of post-production techniques. Learn how to enhance your images using software like Adobe Lightroom and discover how to create a cohesive look for your portfolio.

By the end of this workshop, you will not only have a robust understanding of automotive photography but also some stunning images that showcase your newfound skills. Time permitting, Calvin will be happy to share invaluable insights into pursuing a professional career in automotive photography – the importance of branding, how to build a strong image across lifestyle and social media platforms, how to sell your work effectively and understanding your rights of use.

Calvin Courjon, 24, is a French photographer specialized in automotive and travel images. Calvin started his photographic journey when he was only ten years old. Fourteen years later, he’s never in one place for long. From shooting some of the most prestigious cars in Paris, Bangkok, or elsewhere, to exploring remote locations such as Patagonia, Calvin always travel to discover and feel new regions of the world to fuel his need of creating the best images. He also produces all the images of world’s best pastry chef, Cedric Grolet, as well as for various luxury brands. But his true love still lies in cars, especially classics, and travels. His work reflects that. Trying to bring some of the rarest vehicles in iconic locations to emphasize the bond between a car and its background, demonstrating that sport cars are not only nested in big cities but are also a way of escaping in the nature, looking for the most incredible roads. His hunt for the best pictures has gathered more than 115 000 people on Instagram (@ccourjon) where he publishes his work and behind the scenes.
