LEICA GALERIE

Leica Camera shares a passion for and a love of creative photography of the highest standards with many people around the world – that’s why making such works and their creators accessible to people with this passion has always been important to Leica. For decades now, and for this precise reason, Leica has offered both prominent Leica photographers and emerging new talents an opportunity to present their work to a wider audience. The Leica galleries were conceived as the ideal forum for this purpose.

The tradition of the Leica Galleries goes back to the 1970s. The first Leica Gallery was founded in Wetzlar in 1976 and currently resides in the headquarters of Leica Camera AG. Further galleries were to follow, and today, Leica Galleries are found in many parts of the world, including Singapore.

TO STAND AND TO HOLD

21 Aug 2025 - 22 Sept 2025 | Dr. Ng King Kang

In honour of Singapore’s 60th birthday, Leica Gallery presents To Stand and To Hold — a deeply personal and compelling photographic project by Dr. Ng King Kang (@k2359k), a renowned local journalist, creative, and thoughtful observer of human stories. This evocative exhibition features 21 portraits of everyday Singaporeans. From chefs and dancers to doctors, athletes and artists, Dr Ng captures the essence of identity — shaped not merely by circumstance, but by discipline, passion, and the quiet dignity of perseverance.

Each portrait is accompanied by a personal narrative — not to celebrate recognition, but to honour character, dedication and the quiet strength found in everyday lives.

A Short Tale of Syria

SINGING IN THE DARK

7 Nov 2022 - 16 Apr 2023 | KC Eng and members of Red Photos

It is more than just about the opera, the performers and the props involved. It is the incorporeal embodiment of tradition that we must treasure today, fading as it will with time’s arrow. It is also an emblem of the altruistic spirit of dedicating oneself wholeheartedly to something without expecting much materially in return. This photo exhibition holds and passes on that shimmering trove to the audience, in hope that the persistence of its memory may yet still gleam farther down in the sands of time, before its final vanishment under a shroud of oblivion.

Untamed Nature

11 Jul - 11 Sept 2025 | Wayne Chng

Step into the quiet world of nature with wildlife photographer Wayne Chng (@waynephotojournal), as he takes us on a journey through the hidden corners of Singapore and Asia, capturing the unseen stories of wildlife through the Leica SL-System. This photo exhibition is a call to pause, observe, and reconnect — celebrating Singapore as a 'Garden City', where nature and urban life exist in delicate harmony. Through Wayne’s images, we encounter an extraordinary range of wildlife — from tiny insects clinging to dewdrops and migratory birds mid-flight, to reptiles basking in golden light and elusive mammals weaving through dense undergrowth.

Wayne Chng is a published photographer with a deep-rooted passion for wildlife and nature. His journey began in childhood, inspired by countless hours spent watching Animal Planet and National Geographic. What started as fascination soon became purpose — to capture the untamed and the unseen. For Wayne, wildlife photography is more than an art form; it is a meditative practice, grounded in patience and a profound connection with the natural world.

About KC Eng

Many years ago – after my national service - I decided to see the world through the camera lens. This bridge between science and art, brings both worlds to a common denominator in my search fora unified vision in time, space and structure. For now, I write stories in visual language where prose and poetry require no transcription. My trusty Leica facilitates the 'taking', whilst I do the 'giving', to transform and transcend ordinary reality, bringing subjective order into objective chaos. In a domain undictated by formula, I turn to myself with my conscience speaking, writing and singing in the language of light and time.
