Retirement is the beginning of another stage of your life. As you leave your career behind, time begins to slow down. The significance of a sunrise has evolved from a sign of work to a work of art. Within the banality of life dawns a new light; within the ordinary, the extraordinary appears.

"Similar to a camera, our perspective changes when we change the camera angle and positions. As we move along in life, we start to see details that we have never seen before. This is what I felt when I first picked up the SL2-S, coupled with SL lens, the details that the camera resolves was something I have not experienced in other systems. Art will always flow in the heart of an artist. Somebody once told me “if you only paint when you’re told to, you’re not an artist, you’re a professional”. Your skills and experience do not retire with you, they retire with your passion. Mr Choo was a signboard craftsman and has dedicated his life to arts and crafts. Even in retirement, Mr Choo still creates artworks during his free time.

"I like to document my vision with as little interference and alteration to the scene as possible. As I shoot mostly in natural light or with practical lighting, the dynamic range and ability to shoot in C4k log 10bit 4:2:2 allows me to preserve details even in the harshest lighting conditions. The in-camera tools such as Waveform Monitor allow me to expose my videos accurately and quickly even without a bulky external monitor."

In a cinemagraph, there are no limits to how a story is told. A lot of planning is involved but with so many unpredictable elements such as weather or cloud cover, you have to be able to adapt quickly. With the minimalist design of the SL2 system along with the IP54 weather sealing, I am able to slow down and focus on telling my story, creating beautiful images regardless of weather conditions.
