This Limited Edition is available for viewing at our Leica Store South Beach Quarter.

In 1995, LEICA AG released a special edition of the LEICA M6 Gold Dragon Edition, limited to 300 units, accompanied by a matching Summicron-M 50mm f/2 lens and Leica Dragon wood special box, to commemorate its official entry into the Chinese market.

In Chinese culture, there is an ancient belief that people are descendants of the dragon. Dragons symbolize strength, health, harmony, and good fortune, and are regarded as emblems of power and prosperity.
The dragon motif on the Leica M6 Gold Dragon Edition was elegantly outlined in gold paintwork, adding to its distinctive design. Additionally, a gold-colored dragon head was subtly featured on the built-in lens hood of the accompanying lens.

Worldwide distribution of this special edition is only limited to 300 sets. The special serial number starts with 000/ 300 to 300/300.  The first set of number 000/300 is displayed at the Leica Museum in Solms, Germany while the last number 300/300 is presented to the Chinese Photographers Association and displayed at its headquarters in Beijing, chain as a witness to history.
