Through the Salaryman's Eye
A view of Tokyo from the 70s and 80s
ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER
Jiro Kochi was born in May 1927 in Nakano, Tokyo. He was an average Japanese salaryman, who lived with his wife and three children. His interest in photography started from his school days. He had a lifelong passion for photography, including videos and films. Jiro was never without his camera, in particular, his beloved Leica. Jiro was always taking photos – photos of his family, on his 90 minutes daily commute to work, people he encountered, places he frequent visited, and anything that caught his curious eye.
